Hyunri is an actress born in Tokyo to Korean parents. She belongs to the Hirata office. She is a trilingual who speaks three languages; Japanese, English, and Korean fluently. While she was a student at Aoyama Gakuin University Faculty of Law, she studied abroad at Yonsei University in South Korea and majored in video acting. Initially, she starred mainly in movies and won the Best Emerging Actress Award at the 29th Takasaki Film Festival for the movie "The Voice of Water". The film was officially exhibited at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival Forum section and was selected as the 9th best Japanese film in Kinema Junpo and the 6th largest film art. In 2017, in South Korea, she was awarded the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul Drama Awards 2017, which is a performing arts award. In 2021, her film "Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy" won the Silver Bear Award at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival. In December 25, 2022, Keita Machida announced that they have gotten married.
