The Scandal

Set in the rigid social world of the Joseon era, the historical drama film The Scandal follows Madam Cho, a sharp and charismatic woman trapped by the strict limitations of her gender. Seeking control over her dictated life, she orchestrates a dangerous game of seduction. Madam Cho challenges the notorious charmer Cho Won, who views love as a mere pastime, to seduce Hui Yeon, a young widow deeply devoted to a life of chastity. Confident in his seductive skills, Cho Won accepts the challenge, expecting an easy conquest. However, Hui Yeon fiercely resists his advances to uphold her sacred vows. As Cho Won persists, his pursuit begins to awaken emotions Hui Yeon has long suppressed. Soon, the thin line between cold manipulation and genuine affection blurs.
